''Powers for Police and Local Authorities to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour.''
This specialist course is designed for Police and Local Authority Licensing and Environmental Health Officers to give them an understanding of their powers under the following Acts:
The course will look at the powers available to those Officers to close licensed premises or gather evidence to enable reviews of premises licences, where offences/problems have occurred. The problem of anti-social behaviour through noise pollution is also addressed.
This course is designed for inter-action between the Officers to share their experiences and develop a closer working relationship.

It is essential that Local Elected Members who serve on Licensing Committees receive professional training in their Roles and Responsibilities, when officiating at Licensing Hearings. Lack of training could result in wrong decisions or mis-interpretations of the Acts, which could result in costly appeals or applications for Judicial Review.
Realistic scenario/role play exercises can be facilitated to incorporate officers from the statutory authorities (police, fire, environmental health etc) in mock committee hearings for any of the above described courses.
We give continuous feedback to Committee Members on their participation within the mock hearing, focusing particularly on their roles and responsibilities.
